Rakuten helps connect shoppers to brands. Users are rewarded by receiving Cash Back, promotional deals and other shopping incentives. The platform presents shoppers with a personalized selection of deals to choose from.

I supported customer, partner and internal design needs. My focus was developing promotional marketing materials for online shopping events across multiple touchpoints. Additional work included updating company brand standards, a/b testing for email and ads, and developing scalable tools and templates including design system for email.


Brand Toolkit

After Ebates was acquired by Rakuten, I supported a major rebrand—updating email and ad templates, establishing brand standards, and creating new graphics that aligned with the Rakuten brand.

In-App Marketing Ads

Rakuten’s platform features personalized sales ads based on users’ shopping habits. Below are a few examples of the many marketing placements I designed.

Email Design

As a key entry point to the Rakuten experience, marketing emails needed to reflect the app’s look and feel. I designed templates for sales promotions and campaigns and contributed email components to the design system. This helped to ensure visual alignment and consistency across channels.
